This time of year gets SO busy. At times it can all feel overwhelming----the shopping, the traveling, the semester ending, etc. Here is your friendly reminder to slow down in the midst of all that is happening.
Slow down to reflect on why this time of year is oh so special. This past week I started reading the beginning of Matthew as it shares the story of our Savior entering the world. I love celebrating His life, but I often find myself caught up with all of the Holiday deals. I love a good deal.
I get easily distracted by all the events happening around me. This time I truly want to slow down and reflect on the words that I am reading. A lot of the time I forget to process the verses that I read---I am guilty of reading scripture and then checking the box saying I read my verse for the day. That is not true meditation and reflection. I am not trying to shame anyone who has done that, I am right there with you.
I want to hide these words in my heart that I am able to tell others. How sweet it is to have the Holy word of God right at my fingertips. I pray that this next year I will grow more consistent in reflection. If you are reading this I hope that you will do this with me too.
